We went out this past weekend and shot from the tripod at various locations. He did well and got the idea of aiming for the exit.

Then we sat in the tripod and watched some deer come in and he had some excited shakes when he saw those bucks...I asked him if he would be able to shoot if one of those walked out and he said "I am not going to shoot a buck first, and I won't get the shakes like that for a doe"

We'll see....we'll see deer

I watched this live from approximately 60 yards from a pop up blind. I did not notice the buck "ducking" the arrow with the naked eye...it happened so fast. In fact, I insisted that he didn't duck. My son is up in a tree approximately 12-15 yards from buck. Very short shot! These are six consecutive frames from my video player. Each frame is 1/30th of a second. The total time from frames 1 through 6 is 1/5 of a second. The arrow is released in frame one and passes over deer in frame 5. The only frame I could see arrow was in frame five....it was a light blur against the water trough. I highlighted the blur so it could be seen on these low quality pics. Truly amazing how fast they can react.

90% of the deer I have missed has been over the back so I tend to aim about an inch low so if I hit where I am aiming I'm in the heart but if I shoot high I'm in the lungs
