We have never been to Enchanted Rock to hunt and was wondering if anyone that has or some that hunts that area could give us some in sight or advice on this area before we try to make a decission, is there really any exotics there? are they there in october and leave out after all the hunting pressure and are gone by january or are they there most of the time?
how is the park staff with any assistants if we have a disable person that could need some help? any particular stand better then others? how is the deer population, what kind of exotics do they have there? what is the closes lodging that is decent?
we thank everyone for your response and help, thank you.

Have taken hunters in that area for exotics. There are all types that run around there but that only means you may see some and no telling what type or you may see none. Good luck you will enjoy it.

yes, i ment to refer to the draw hunts at enchanted rock. did not know if they had any or if they did, did they scatter when the rifles go off, or does the surounding ranch hunting pressure pushs them on to E rock, basic wondering what to expect, we have not been in that area.
thanks

I have a friend that used to hunt a ranch that bordered it back in the 90's. He said that had a lot of aoudads on that ranch so I would guess they are on the state park also. Had some pretty good ones he said.

We hunt about 3 miles from there, as the crow flies. There are some good aoudad in the area, also a few axis, and the occasional sika, fallow, and blackbuck.

well it sounds like there could be the chance of seeing some exotics. We were wondering if there were any exotics at the enchanted rock, some places advertise they have exotics when they do not, they just had to list it since 1 was seen roamimg, we was hope this was not the case here, we would like to see some, getting a shoot oprotunity would be a great plus but not very important as long as we can at least see them and get our fill on the white tail. I wonder if any on here has a suggestion on which blinds/stands to select/hunt?

Thank you all for this information

My brother and I hunted there five years ago. We harvested a Axis and saw a sika. Lots of white tails.

If hunts at enchanted rock are like other tpwd hunts- you will be randomly assigned blinds and not get to choose your hunting locations. Get there early, be friendly to the hunt hosts and listen to their advice. Good luck!
