Brought this girl home today from Angie at Tioga's. She's out of Pepper and Texas Troubadour. Looking forward to having a pure retriever to go with my vizsla.

Good looking pup. Looks like your going to have your hands full for a while.

What does Blue think of the little cutie?

Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

Sound like he is letting her know where he draws the line.

Any tips or do I just have to let him get used to her? He doesn't want to be in the same room with her right now and he literally won't even look at us if we're petting her. Haha

You can go with the "ignor it and it will go away" method and they will eventually set boundaries and get along on their own. What worked for me to speed it up, but know I am different than most in how I train. Blaze was an experiment for me staying only with positive training methods, but I cross train with Dash. I now start with clicker training, operant conditioning, or positive reinforcement methods to teach a desired behavior, then follow with negative reinforcement or other traditional training to reinforce. Training with positive methods first is usually not as fast or as solid as some methods, but I prefer the kind of dog I end up with in the end because of it.
Here is what I shared with the owners of Dash's siblings via email in 2012.
Getting Blaze to accept Dash has been some work. Blaze has been an only dog for her full 7+ years. First we had to just give Blaze time to get used to Dash being around and keep them separated. Originally Blaze shunned Dash and shunned us for our attention to Dash. When she came out of her shell, Dash was getting too playful. In Blaze's face and following her everywhere, trying to jump on her and bite her. Blaze was not happy about it and started to get aggressive.
I started doing some clicker training to shape their behavior with each other. Some training sessions in the back yard where whenever they got within a few feet of each other, click followed by treat. Then changed to when they got very close to each other and only if Blaze showed no aggression and Dash did not jump, bite ,or chase Blaze, they got a click timed at the right moment and treat. And continuing to work from there. The first session in the back yard ended with both dogs laying in the grass beside each other staring at me and ignoring each other. I was amazed at how fast I was able to shape their behavior.
Puppies will be puppies, but Blaze has to be tolerant to some degree and Dash who is a very stubborn little guy, has been fearless of any correction from Blaze, so the other thing I did is use a time out with Blaze the moment she looked to become too aggressive. This is Blaze's kriptonite and has been very effective on her.
With Dash the way I taught him not to bite me is the moment he bites me in a way I feel too much for play, I say ouch and leave the room. Other family members are to do the same thing. Though it was not planned by me, removing Blaze to time out has worked in the same way. When Blaze has tried to over correct Dash from bugging her it has been because of Dash jumping and biting on her mostly. Dash seems to have figured out if he crosses that line, his friend Blaze goes away.
The two dogs laying on the floor by each as shown in those pictures is a major accomplishment. They have even started playing with each other with a degree of respect to what lines not to cross.

The reason I ask about Blue the first time, was to see if he was anything like my Lucy. They are the same bloodlines, and she cares very little about playing with other dogs. She is sweet and submissive if a dog come up to her, but she has no interest in them. She's the youngest one here, and has never had to deal with a puppy on a full time basis.

He's tolerating her a little better now. He even let her jump on him playing a little today.
