I shot the Mutiny's last go around so I bought 6 to get this bow set up because I know they worked for me before. But the whole time I keep thinking about those skinny lil VAPs the guy at the shop shoots, as well as a guy getting work done on his bow. He had some in his hand.

My question is who has made the switch to these and do you like them over the regular carbon arrows that are a little fatter?

That's another question. What's the formula for that?

Bullfrog; I shoot trad with a 200gn broad head, I want an arrow that's close to 600gn's since I don't have the speed that compounds do I need the K.E. so I use Easton Aluminum 2018 arrows that give my arrow the deflection I need and the weight.

When I shot compounds I still used a 200gn broad head with a 300 spine arrow. My hunting arrow was 543gn with 21% FOC and over 80 KE. Worked like a champ.

Rloving1 on this forum has hunted with me and has seen my results, he now uses a 100gn insert and 100gn Muzzy. It's just my preference, most hunters want something fast with a flatter trajectory. I care more about K.E. than speed, judging distance has never been a problem with me.

I have and haven't regretted it. They fly great out of my Elite Answer at 70# 28.5". Only thing I don't like about them is the outserts bend pretty easy.

Get the Stainless steel outlets. I've got some BE rampages now with the SS outcerts that's very similar and they are tough

I thought about it but just didn't want to add that kind of weight up front yet. They are heavy enough as it is. 423 with 100 grain head.

You're worried about adding weight to the front? .. 12-15% is about right for good arrow flight.
The difference between the two inserts is doubt is more than 5gn... 423gn is certainly not heavy by any means.

SS are 50grs for BE not sure on vap probably 50-55

On the rampages I cut them down to 26. I think I'm 18% and 485.

Shooting pie plate at 100. I like the Deep impacts better though

Sure makes for more consistent flight and better penetration for sure. I think my compound was 543gn with 200gn field tips or broad heads 21%FOC. My trads are a lot more around 600gns.

So why was I told to use a 340 arrow and a 100gr field tip? My numbers are far off of yours.

Not sure who told ya; 340 may be right. I don't know you're set up, but spine and gpi are two different things.

Oh so that number is actually a measurement of how far the arrow will flex, in turn saying how rigid it needs to be for a certain length/poundage! Ok. Thanks yall

I also shot the Victory V-Force V1s. They are .001 straightness. I've never tried the VAPs.

All their videos seem like they have superior penetration compared to fatter shafts. If I start having any issues with the Mutiny's, I'll make the switch.
