Last buck I shot in the hill country, blasted that scrubby 5 pointer thru the ribs with a 270. Dead right there. When I got to him, I heard thrashing in a cedar bush about 10 feet away. There lay a 10 point jack-a-lope with a 136 B&C rack. The bullet had passed thru the scrub buck and hit the unknown jack. Well, I looked them both over and took the jack-a-lope home since it had more meat and a bigger rack.

I was fishing and it was just getting dark. Couldn't see real clear and I had decided to go home. Just as I was reeling my lure in something hit it. Hit that lure hard and took off real fast. I jerked as hard as I could and whatever it was came out of the water and over my head. Landed in the tall grass behind me. Came off the lure when it hit the ground. Heard it rustling around in the grass, so I went to get a spotlight out of the truck. By the time I got to where it landed, that thing ran up a tree. Started shining in that tree trying to locate it. Got a glimpse of some movement about 30' off the ground. Moved the light toward the movement and whatever it was flew off. Never did identify that thing.

I won $90 million from the lottery last week. When they told me I was only going to get $54 million after tax. I got angry and said just keep it.

Man, I love to hunt and eat squirrel. It's good fried with biscuits and gravy or stewed with dumpling. Well, I ain't had squirrel lately. Moved to east Texas and I can't hit them flying squirrels with my only gun, a 22 single shot.
Also, love fish, especially flying fish. Trouble is they only bite at nite in the dark and on top water lures. I can catch 'em but they break my line before I reel em in.
Buddy told me I need to take up fly fishing. Finally found something I am good at. Put a bowl of old buck soup on the table and I catch all kinds of flies.
