I saw around 8-10 half grown bobs this morning near Lubbock. They could fly pretty good. Cover looks great hopefully good conditions will continue.

Good news!

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

I spent last 2 days in collingswirth county. Birds calling almost continuously most of the day. Only saw 1 pair and no young ones. Cover is great.
Temps are mild and rains gave been good. Hopefully younguns will show up soon.

They called all weekend on our place in Montague. Saw the biggest covey ever there and a few others. Had a pair walk right through camp which was a first. We'll see what is left in January.

I heard two coveys at my place in the Wharton/Boling area; couldn't get close enough to determine numbers in either coveys. Don't know if they are escapees from last year's pen-raised birds or two new wild bird covey's to the area.

I saw another covey with around 8 chicks and a big covey of blues that had full grown and half grown birds.

Went for a jog this morning in South Bexar County(south San Antonio) and had 2 young ones running in the road in front of me for about 20 yards before they took flight 20-30 yards into the field.

I heard quail for the first time in long time in northern Live Oak County 10 days ago. I see quail daily in Goliad County. I see birds from pairs to coveys of various ages. Had a covey at the house this morning that had 15 birds in it.

That is a verified report.

Lying is lying. Don't bitch about one doing it and condone another. That's called hypocrisy.
