What do you consider the dividing line for blues in the west and bobs to the east? For me it is the snowbird trail highway 83, through Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas to the Mexico border. Probably mixed 25 miles either side of that line.

I can make 'em go! and I can make 'em whoa!

We still have an occasional covey of blues east of IH 37 in Live Oak County. Was on a ranch 35 miles east of Cotulla at the eastern edge of La Salle County and we had tons of blues and pretty good amount of bobs. Pecos County west of Fort Stockton we have nothing but blues. Have not seen a bob in 7 yrs hunting on that lease.

on our place in Zavala County northeast of Batesville it used to be the opposite...we had tons more blues than bobwhites, this was in the mid 90s....we used to feed the roads with milo and shoot them with a .22.

Somewhere around 98'-99' something happened and the quail took a big hit....both species died out on the place. around 01' the bobs came back strong but the blues never did.

its been a long, long time since I have seen a blue quail on either our place or our neighbors. I did see a couple blue quail pairs last month on some country over by the Shiner Ranch on 1582.

I have never heard and explanation as to why the blues died out.

Buddy of mine has a place in McMullen county between 16 and 97 15 miles south of charlotte and they have never seen any blues out there.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
