I don't always carry a pistol when I'm in the field, but when I do I carry an Encore in .308 win.

The high standard 22 revolver is a great gun and I love mine...although I've never carried it in the field. Occasionally I will carry my ruger mark I. Mostly I carry a 357 Blackhawk. Why? Strong. Accurate. Simple.

I carry an S&W Shield 9x19, a Glock 19 or a Ruger Bearcat and some times a Buckmark.

For years, when I was doing some hosting for hunts on the leases my company had, I carried a 357 Colt Trooper. Some of the deer that customers shot needed to be finished off. Later I saw a customer with a Colt Diamondback and I HAD to have one of those, so bought one and carried that in my 'possible bag' for years and years. Then I switched to a Python in 357 and then I just quit carrying any pistol at all. Couldn't see the point in having the extra weight.

Glock 22 40cal with Streamlight M6 laser/light combo. Minus the 26 round mag. That's only for bedside duty.

Whatever I feel like carrying that day... one of the 1911's, my dad's old Colt Trooper or the Ruger Security Six my oldest son got for me, but mostly my well worn H&K USP .40.

I love my .357! 6" S&W 66 is always with me in the woods. If I could only figure out how to conceal that beast I would love for it to be my daily carry. I guess I need to drink more beer and eat more donuts.  -ww

Contender G2 with 14" .35rem bbl and fixed 4X scope!
Works "real" good but noise is sumpthin else and recoils like a howitzer.....Durn thing should've come with ear muffs and a gun crew.
