Man told me today that he had a friend who owns land out by Sterling City. He is seeing a lot of half grown birds in the roads on his ranch. Its been many years since he has seen this many small birds. When you see them in the roads there usually means there are a lot of birds. Let's hope nothing happens to them before the first cool spell.

And that the first cool spell is not a 90 to 25 and rain cool spell.

Lying is lying. Don't bitch about one doing it and condone another. That's called hypocrisy.

That's blue quail country.

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

Come on tigger let's think positive...I know some guys that have hunted out that way for several years and have been finding more Bobs than Blues. But yes you are right if you want to hunt some blues it would be a good place to go. All I know I am ready...

Got several covies around the house this year. One is about 20 birds...most I've seen in years. Lots of insects so chicks oughta do well. Funny thing I noticed the other day...caught a bunch of grasshoppers and threw them in the flight pen with my hatched birds...didn't pay a bit of attention to them. Figured they swarm the hoppers...not even a second look.

I agree with you and not being negative. I have just seen a early blue norther wipe out a great season. I have hunted sterling city area several times and always found about equal bobs and blues and if cover was good blues acted a lot like bobs. Great luck to all.

I hunt in sterling and have seen better numbers of blues and bobs than I've seen in many years. I hope they will keep on keeping on.
