 bow hunting with a firearm

I am new to bow hunting but have a question about carrying firearms while hunting. I think it is illegal to carry a firearm unless you have a chl while bow hunting. Any help out there?

During bow only season you can carry with a chl if it is concealed.
Ps don't believe everything you read on the internet.

Check the regs but I think the law was changed this year(2014-2015) to allow all bow hunters to carry a sidearm in bow season.

Tom Come September 1st it will be legal. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/newsmedia/releases/?req=20140328bI am sure most public lands will still have their own individual rules prohibiting firearms during archery still.

I didn't see the announcement that bow hunters are allowed to carry firearms without their chl.
