No caterer today, so I picked a few things out of my tote. Snacked on some olives and okra. Had some jerky and smoked oysters. Now I'm tearing up a watermelon.

Sneaky, you might check out crossfit.com. They post daily workouts that are short and intense and (usually) require little equipment. You can usually substitute with what you have on hand, such as dumbbells for a kettle bell. It will give you some nice variety.

I would still put some cardio into the routine, running or hiking with weight, but that will probably create some disagreement from the strictly strength training folks. For me, I get best results from both strength and cardio.

Drill some holes in the bucket to encourage speed.

I will still do some cardio. I just isn't my main focus, now.

As long as we've been waiting for sand, they'd probably like it offloaded a little quicker than what I could manage with a bucket.

I'll check out crossfit. I really like this exercise, but I'm open to other ideas.

Health related, but not exercise - I did a "sleep study" last night. 1/2 the night monitor without anything, 2nd 1/2 with the CPAP. I like the doc, but he and the tech last night spend more time talking about the CPAP machine than they do talking about what you're body is doing. I'll wait for the follow-up visit with the doc, but my gut is sending off con-job alerts. My feeling is the CPAP industry is quite lucrative and growing. Tech said "oh, you slept so much better with the machine on," but I felt exactly the same this morning. I know life-expectancy wasn't ideal in cave man days, but somehow we've managed to sleep for thousands of years without a CPAP machine. I want to hear wind in the aspens/pines when I'm hunting, not some stupid machine and a generator running. And, not to be overly dramatic, but once you start dragging around a machine with you so you can sleep, haven't you taken that first, albeit tiny, step down that slippery slope on the "quality of life" road? I know only fellow old farts will be able to relate to this.

Planning knee exercises, walk, and some kind of low-impact lower back workout for later today. I like this one, I don't know why grin.

Good updates, guys. And Sneaky, I dig the gym - simple, yet effective.

I finally got to the point recently where I "enjoy" working out. I don't enjoy the pain, but I like challenging myself. We, as humans, don't get any stronger by sitting around - strength and results come from hard work. Finishing a tough workout (for me) is incredibly rewarding. The DOMS and the pain may suck, but they're a reminder of accomplishment - something I enjoy feasting on.

Speaking of feasting, the more muscle I put on and the more workouts I complete, the more I can eat! food

Strength comes from resistance and adaption is a result of change

Push yourselves in each one of your workouts to see results.

Good luck today guys

Creekrunner, I wouldn't want any part of that machine, either.

I've noticed my appetite increasing with my workouts. Had fish, rice, green beans and peppers for lunch.

Took my pack with 50 lbs on a 2 mile wander... not too bad of a pace. Definitely room for improvement and getting conditioned to the extra weight.

Got a second training hike in; took it down from 50 to 40lbs but added distance going over 3 mile. Mile 1 wasn't bad, mile 2 was tough, mile 3 was smooth sailing.

No slacking for Easter. Don't eat too many eggs.

I am up for part A of my workout today. Not sure how. Squats are going to suck. I can barely get on and off my trailer to get any work done.

We had steak sandwiches, fries, and salad for lunch. I skipped the bread, and ate just a few fries.

Just finished up part A of my workout program. Got it in just in time before the rain hit. I'm beat.
