Had a good workout earlier. Lots of elliptical and dumbbell exercises. A few sit-ups and push-ups.
Had a chicken sandwich and applesauce from Macalisters for lunch. Had some chicken breast, cheese, and jalapeños for a mid-afternoon snack. I am told peppers are good for metabolism, so I loaded up on those. Looks like either fish or deer steaks for dinner. I'm leaning towards fish. if you don't mind me asking......what are your overall goals you are trying to achieve thru exercise?

Yesterday was swimming in the am, P90X2 core in the evening. Just finished a 2.5 mile run, then after the kids are in bed it's time for Plyocide. Down 4 lbs since Saturday but probably mostly water. Got to stick to it for the long haul.

Don't forget the THF Bikini contest You guys are doing real good so far Just finished up leg day. 20 min brisk walking on the treadmill w/ incline intervals, then 4 sets each of back squats, dumbbell stiff legged deadlifts, weighted sled pushes and squat jumps. Finished up by balancing on a 13lb medicine ball (usually easy, but couldn't go more than 30 seconds at a time today)

Not sure how many of y'all plan on incorporating just hiking with your pack, but today that's what I did. Its been years since I hiked with a pack and 10 years makes a huge difference. Took my pack with 50 lbs on a 2 mile wander... not too bad of a pace. Definitely room for improvement and getting conditioned to the extra weight.

Mornin'. Solid arms & core workout yesterday, I felt extra pumped up to workout for some reason. Typical meals for a kid like me too, haha.
Pounds of crawfish for dinner tonight, always lookin' forward to that! Shoulders & core later today.
Coastal Prairie & Matagorda Bay system. Sic'em.

I woke up very sore this morning, I struggled to steer on the way to school, haha. I'm just sittin' here bored in physics, learning about science and stuff. Just thinking 'bout the extended weekend and crawfish tonight, oh and of course gym time!

I've decided that I need to get some kind of schedule put together for my workouts to keep it consistent and keep track of what I'm doing. Since we are still waiting on sand and have nothing to do, I'm going to get that done, and then I'll pick a workout and do it.

Just did the short (2mi.) walk with the 12# "fitness bar". Not too bad. But I have learned something - it's not 20, 15, or even 10 years ago. I've got to introduce new exercises real gradual like. My stomach is still hurting from doing too much on Monday. That's over 3 days ago. I know the difference between sore and almost pulling something 'cause your trying to get results too fast. Breakfast was muesli with banana. Lunch was, well, you see, I was at Costco picking up a Pelican ice chest and those 1.50 hot dogs are GOOD. No worries, I got the low calorie lemonade. Then over an hour later, the wife brings home Whataburger. I try not to piss off the war department. On the plus side, at least I'm never gonna look like this guy - (And I'll definitely tone down the outfit for elk hunting.)

Viewing that is almost as painful as that workout I just did. Cheese and crackers. Cheese and freaking crackers! People that enjoy torturing themselves like this are not okay in the head. Not at all. I understand why we do it. I will continue to do it. But i will never understand liking any part of it. I did a lot of research today, and I settled on this workout: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=157587143Did part A just now. I have to improvise on some of the workouts, due to being on location instead of at a gym, but with the equipment I have thrown together in the pic below, I get pretty close to most of the workouts and exact on some. I know it's effective. I could feel a variety of muscle groups working. My body now feels like it has weights strapped to it. I can barely tap this post out on my phone. What a workout. I hated it, so it must be good. TXtrophy told me that strength training would give me my much needed cardio. Boy was he right. I was winded as if I'd been on the elliptical, but I was also building muscle at the same. Seems much more effective than putting my focus into running/hill climbing. I will still do some purely cardio workouts, like my hill climb, but it will no longer be my main focus. I feel that's a smart move for me. I'm glad I started this thread to receive the help I need like that. I'm also thankful for y'all's participation and help. (Or maybe I hate y'all. I haven't decided yet.) I've gone from fat and lazy, to motivated but lost, to motivated, focused, and headed in the proper direction. I'm still fat, but we're solving that one day at a time. My gym:
