What is the population of quail like in east edwards county? I have yet to see any quail and was wondering if they are even prominent in the area.

I hunted in the eastern part of the county several years ago and there were not many quail then. The Ford ranch is in the western part of the county and has held good numbers of quail in the past.
Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

I own a couple hundred acres in North Central Edwards County. In 2012, we saw quail dang near every time we were there. In 2013, it was like they all of a sudden dissappeared. So far in 2014, we have yet to see a covey.

Quail are real spotty in the hill country everywhere. I have a ranch near Mountain Home in west Kerr Co. that has virtually no quail (I'm working on that by letting the grass get tall). We looked at a ranch in eastern Edwards last fall that is about 15 miles from my other MH ranch. It was covered up in bobs. Really shocked me that there were that many quail on a ranch that close.
