For those that like Excalibur crossbows 2014 new bow generates 405fps, but with a draw weight or 290lbs it is a little difficult to draw to the locked back position (long wording to get around the censorship of the usual term.

I heard its not much more than the Matrix 380 I currently have...The 380 is a 260 pound pull and its pretty much a breeze.

A lot of the perceived ease of pull on crossbows has to do with body type, size and strength. My skinny long armed self 5'8" with a 6 foot wing span yea long armed for my height the 260lb Matrix 380 is doable but not a breeze to me, add in the 30lbs more with the Matrix 405 and it is more than I like to draw for many shots at a time. Yes I tried it and it is just more than I like, it is a good shooting bow though.

The short power stroke seems more of a breeze to me. I have a TenPoint as well and it was a pain to draw back because the power stroke was longer and it was less than 200 pounds, can't remember the exact weight though.

Know what you mean about the long power stroke of some making it a pain, some of the Tenpoints and Barnetts have a very long stroke especially the Ghost 410 from Barnett. To me the easiest ones are Darton Serpent, Viper and Terminators which though a fairly long stroke go into a 50% letoff for the last 4 inches or so of draw really a nice feature. Carbon express has a new bow out this year with a very similar feel to the Darton and I would not be surprised if it does not use Darton cams.
