Okay here is the deal i put a scope on a rifle i got a few weeks ago, but i'm haveing some issues. When i let the gun sit and do a cold barrel shot through it it shoot 1.5 inches down and to the right at 100 yards. After that it shoots dead on for the next 5 shots. If i'm planning on shootin like the neck of a turkey, do i set the scope to be dead on when the rifle is cold for the first shot only ? Or do i set it where the group tends to be after the first shot ? There is no doubt i can kill a deer with it at 100-200 yards but what about the little necked turkey shots.

Sounds logical to me, but I know what you mean Curtis. I think if you are not shooting on a regular basis as we are typicaly fishing all season prior to hunting season we get a little itchy on the first shot of a high power gun and just love-it the next and following shots are always better with comfort. Im not saying thats the case it just take's a quick crappie bite and a miss, and a quick shot to wake up the average non-everyday shooter to adjust. Just my 2 cents, which account's for about a half sent when I think about it.

Well i went to my dads lease and sighted it in again. I got it steady too take a shot and did. It was about 1" down and to the right. Let it cool in the shade picked it back up and shot it again, Same results, 1" down and to the right. Did this process one more time and same results. I adjusted the scope, and let it cool. I got it steady for a fresh shot, and wham dead on. Let it cool, like i did before in the shade with the cool wind blowing on it, and took another shot, wham dead on. Let it cool again and took another shot, wham dead on. I had a 3 shot group at a hundred yards i could cover with a dime easily. After this, then i took shot, after shot, after shot, after shot. I had a group i coild cover with a quarter all within 1/2" of dead bull. I'm not sure what changed other than the ammo but i like it. I was shooting the 60gr nosler partition, federal premium ammo and it groups very well, in this gun.
