ok guys I am on overload as far as what bow aces sense and why. I posted before and thought I had it down between a couple different bows but now I don't know. I hadn't really even considered an elite, but now I am thinking it should be a top runner. Like I said in a previous post, I had a drenalin when they came out and it was great as far as I was concerned. However, I don't know whats great and whats not so great. bows are feeling marginally different to me at this point and I dont even know what I want anymore. Looking at Bowtech carbon knight, carbon overdrive, Elite energy 32, maybe mathews or hoyt. I have about a 28" draw and would probably be good with 65-70 pounds... any help or experience is appreciated. Why is one better than another etc... I mean I get the guy at the pro shop telling me that the overdrive is better because of the cams... but I don't feel it very much...

Alli have is "To each their own".....I have had top of the line Mathews, Hoyt, PSE, and Bowtech......never shot and elite, strother, Bear.....but out of the 4 THAT I HAVE owned I feel like Bowtech is the best fit for ME. I once had a 2006 Bowtech Allegiance and I sold it. Big mistake. So after going with the other brands mentioned I am back with Bowtech and loving it. I have a 2011 Bowtech destroyer 350 that thing is a BEAST!! I would also say if you keep shooting different kinds of bows... keeping your mind boggled......give it a couple of weeks rests and try again. Just my 2cents. Good luck with finding one thet FITS YOU.

Yeah I really feel like it's bowtech or elite really. I don't like the way Mathews looks/feels. Hoyt seems loud. It's kind of what is best. The guy at the pro shop is like "the carbon knight isikd a Volkswagen and the overdrive is like a Cadillac" well why? What makes one so much better? What am I missing.

I would take the Volkswagen with a 7" brace height over the Cadillac with a 6.5" brace height any day. With that said it is because the Carbon Knight comes from the Assassin line of bows which were bowtechs low end and the Overdrive comes from the Insanity line which was their top tier, from what I understand.

I think this year you can't go wrong with Elite or for the last two years actually, but they really hit a home run this year. Since January I know two guys who bought new bows and one that is about to. They are all buying Elite bows, two guys were diehard Mathews guys and one has been shooting bowtech forever.

I actually like the carbon knight better than the overdrive. But even though I have only owned my ELite for a few months, I can already tell it is going to be a long time before I buy a new bow.

thanks for the notes on both. i was looking at the energy 32... its price point is between the lower priced carbon knight and higher priced overdrive. it being years since I've shot and I'm pretty much a newbie anyway, id rather not drop 1k on a bare bow. did that more or less before with the drenalin and always hated that... i know a 300.00 bow can do the same job that a 1k bow can and all. i just wanted the best for the money, no issues, quiet and fast combination that i didn't feel like i broke the bank on... any more advice is great though

All the bows you mentioned are very good and it can be very difficult to choose. Agree with the recommendation of taking a little time, back off and take a little time there are lots of great bows out there. One I really enjoy shooting is from 2013, the Strothers Wrath SHO. short bow with 7+ inch brace height and there are some on clearance at Cabela's in FW, might want to have it setup elsewhere but for the $ not a bad deal.
