The Glock 42 is now abailable. I know some of you don't like the 380 ACP, but I think for women it's a good size round in a manageable size gun in most cases. And they are available at a great price

Wow, that isn't a sexist remark... guess we know where the screen name comes from. grin

Also, it is marketed as a pocket gun, but it is the same size as a Kel Tec PF9. A little too big for pocket carry. However, I wouldn't call that a "manageable size", as it is fairly small to get a grip on.

Not sure how that's a sexist remark but if it gets your panties in a wad then I guess they are going to be in a wad. You may not think it's a "manageable size" but 380 frames are normally slimmer and smaller, better suited for most females hands.

Oh and as for the screen name, I explained that in another post, and you're wrong. But thanks for the erroneous reply up

Most are guessing the size is so they can release it in 9mm later

It was mostly in jest, hence the smiley face, but apparently you don't realize that you are inferring that women can only handle small, weaker rounds by saying that "for women it is a good sized round".

As far as this size gun being manageable size, I disagree. These are made for easier concealment, so compromises are made, such as a shorter grip. Pistols that do not allow you to get a full purchase on the grip are not as manageable as ones that do. These pocket guns are not range guns and are not easy to shoot well. If you were talking about a pistol such as the Colt Government 380, Sig P232, or the Bersa Thunder 380, I would agree that these are pistols that are well suited to smaller hands, and are manageable.

We can only hope. They should have went with the 9mm out the gate, as that is what the market wants. They are a couple years late to be jumping on the pocket 380 bandwagon.

I thought they couldn't import their .380's? What happened to that? And is this more compact than the .380 Glock has been selling overseas for years? confused2

They have a manufacturing facility in the US now.

I think these are made by the USA Glock company. A lot of newer Glocks are coming from the USA Glock which don't have the Tanifer coating found on the Austrian Glocks. The process to put the coating on is banned in the USA. EPA and all that jazz.

Pocket gun?!? How big are y'alls' pockets?

This gun seems like a ridiculous item to me. I can't imagine many wanting this gun, save the true Glock fanboys.

That's special Glock pricing if you are a first-responder. But GT still has good civilian pricing, as well. Probably closer to $500 for this one. (You can also get 1 discounted Glock per year if you are a current member of GSSF for at least a year. $425 for the ones marked $399)
