Made this last week. I cut in shooting windows on both sides. Easily fits two hunters. Plan to paint, however deer walked within 15 feet of it today! Did some support framing inside, nothing big, and made a door. It ships a motorcycle...and it was FREE!!

I've been wanting to try that. I have a friend that manages a moving company and told me to come get a couple of shipping crates from him and he would even load them for me. It's hard to beat free and loaded!

That's a neat idea, where did you get the storage container?

It is a shipping company in nolanville, just east of killeen on hwy 190. I'd don't recall the exact name but will check when I drive to work if you are in the temple-killeen area. Hard to beat free!!!

I've still debated painting. I have had deer walk between the blind and the green bush to the left, and they came out behind the feeder, about an 85 yard walk.

I just finished one this year - we got a new computer server unit and the crate was built solid. So, I got it and some 1" solid core doors that were being thrown away and used one for the floor. The crate was an odd shape 3'6"x6'6". Everything worked out good except when it came time to paint it. Nobody had any green paint in town except for JOHN DEERE GREEN!

So GUESS WHAT?

Here is one I built last year. It is almost perfect for a ground blind with little modifications. However I had to add lots of 2x4's for added structural strength since I was elevating it 8' in the air. Here it is.

added 2x6's to the bottom to allow the elevator brackets to be used.
