Twin mountain steak house on the Mertzon hwy is good. It has always been much better than Zetners In my opinion.

We had zetners about 6 years ago and wasn't too impressed. Is twin mountains one of those where the waitress is scantily clad? Wife is going so those types are a no go.

No, they are dressed and from the looks of them last month I was glad they were. Its pretty good, I have had much better steaks elsewhere.

There is a new place called The Grill by SAMs Club. I still have a bunch of friends in Angelo and everyone recommended it on my last trip through. My wife and I ate there and it was excellent. I couldn't remember the name earlier but this is where I'll be dining on my next trip through San Angelo.

Twin Mountain is good. Zetners is living off past glories.

Probably hit the Grill. We had it last month when we visited the dog. The ribs were great.

I've heard lots of good things about Turnrow but haven't had a chance to stop by yet.

Turnrow has great food. In Miles on the main drag about a block off the highway is a Mexican food place that was pretty good, it has been a couple of years since we ate there, but it was good then. Also the Miles Café, but their hours were odd the last time we were in Miles.

Definitely skip Lowake, the last time we ate there it was awful.

twin mountain is family/wife friendly, twin peaks is NOT. I would recommend looking up Armentas for Mexican, it's a small place but our favorite in town.

Sealy Flats, it is a blues bar on South Oaks. Kind of a basic diner, but the place has class. https://www.facebook.com/sealyflats

Cork and Pig on Knickerbocker is dang good. Get one of their pizzas. You also can't beat a Rowena Steak Sandwich from the Turnrow.

My kid is in school down there, so I've been trying some things when I'm out there.

I'm a big fan of Armenta's for Mexican food.
Zentner's daughter was way overhyped in my opinion. There was enough grease on my plate to fry a mess of fish...
