If you shoot a young deer because a neighbor will shoot it, you are that neighbor.

Nice bucks! Last one is a toad. Just curious as to why you can build feed pens to keep the hogs off a feeder or mineral sites?

I tried building a pen last year and the deer wouldn't jump in it. The pen was 64'x64' so I don't think I built it too small. Before I built the pen I would have several deer eating corn around it. After I built it I only had 1 doe that would jump inside it. So we abandoned that idea and just do mineral spots.

After I built it I only had 1 doe that would jump inside it. So we abandoned that idea and just do mineral spots. I have that problem before, so I just open one panel on opposite sides and let the deer get in and out for about 3-4 week or so. They will then jump in on their own.

We use Purina Quick Draw Deer Mineral. We've tried several other brands but on our lease the deer prefer this over all of the others.

When we build our feed pens in east texas, we have to cut the cattle panels in half. The deer can get in, but the hogs cannot jump it.
