I deer hunt at least 21 days every fall, dove hunt a bit, quail hunt, photograph deer and I am always on the road driving somewhere, but have yet to see a live mountain lion when I could tell for sure that is what it was. I have seen a couple of things that I suspect were mountain lions, but never a confirmed sighting. I was wondering how many of you have seen a live mountain lion in the wild? What county it was in?

A buddy of mine shot at one 7 miles West of Coronado's camp 25 miles south of Abilene.

Another guy I hunted with 12 miles out of Big Lake watched one and didnt shoot at it because he said it was pretty

My dad saw one last year when he rounded the corner right before our lease gate. He was crossing the road. Others have seen them there also, within the past 2 years. I have never saw one on my lease, but I have heard it scream several times, and did see one a few miles down the road right at the edge of the woods. I still get chills. This is the first year in 3 that we have had baby pigs again. Before now all pigs sighted have been 60+lbs. We figured the cat(s) were taking care of the smaller ones. Either the cat moved on, someone shot it, or our piggie population is way out of wack.

Panola County, Sabine River Bottoms. 60km east of Shreveport

The first one I saw was in northern Starr county in the early 80's. The second one was in Presidio County back in '95. Have since 2001 seen, tacks, kills, and scat of several in Val Verde County but no live bodies.

I've seen 2. Both were in Northern Arizona. I feel very priveleged to have seen them. And, I've been hunting for about 50 years.

There could be anything in the world in the Sabine River bottoms. Those are some wild places from Tawakoni on down...

I have only personally seen one... 7 years ago, that was outside Ranger Texas. I was sitting on the side of a hill watching an oat field with my dad. When I first saw it, he was sitting there watching us. I told my dad to look down there, he said "Oh @#$%, that's a mountain Lion, SHOOT IT" By the time I got my gun up, he calmly walked out of sight... A few minutes later my dad said we should get the heck outta there. We walked down to the bottom of the hill, I turned around and the mountain lion was sitting where we had just been. That completely freaked out me and my dad. We didn't go back to that spot that year!!!

A few years ago, the guy and his wife who lived next to our Wood County lease, hit and killed one with his truck when they were on their way home from getting groceries one night. They said it was about 5 feet long nose to tail end and fawn colored. They called the game warden when they got home and told him about it. It was gone the next day.

My dad saw some way back in Cooke County along the red river. There have been sightings on our lease in San Saba, but I have personally never seen one. Hope to though.

I have lived in Wood Co. for 25 years and never heard that story. I know the game wardens and most of the folks that hunt in this county.

I've seen two in the same area in Louisiana about ten years apart. It was just south of Toledo Bend, Texas border.

Does it count if I have seen a mountain and then on another occasion I saw a lion. Can I put both memories together?
