Any info on shooting by in Rockwall word is ex constable just shot his ex gf and boyfriend by the harbor and has been chased to hunt county? Anyone heard more?

I live in Royse City and saw a helicopter going east over I30 and about 15 or so police cars in persuit. Was wondering what was going on. Yeah they have him in Greenville heard shot but not verified also heard interstate closed. Also hear female victim was careflighted to hospital

There was a gun battle at the end between suspect and Leo suspect shot still unclear if he was killed.

He is a retired Constable, shot his ex and her current boyfriend. Fled the scene. DPS and Garland/Greenville PD stopped him at the Monty Stratton overpass (the new one right as you are coming into Greenville on 30). Shots were fired, he is now in custody in the Greenville hospital. It all went down about a mile from my house. I can still hear the chopper.

There's a guy on Facebook that does Hunt/Rockwall county scanner posts, but once it gets to medical issues he clams up real quick and deletes any comments relating to the condition of the patient. Friends who were in the backup on 30 say that he hit the ground and did not move.

I was just told by pretty reliable source that once tires spike he stopped and got out with gun, and then got back in car then got out again with gun and got back in car then got out and pointed the gun at cops and then he was shot at with pistols and .223's

The Hearald Banner is reporting that the girlfriend has died from the gunshot injuries. Inferred that the shooter is still alive.

And now I just saw on wfaa.com that the alleged shooter was killed by the LE. Just Wow. Bad situation all around. Prayers up for the families involved and for the LEO that had to do their job as well. At least we do not have to have a trial and expense of long term incarceration of the perp.

Looks like wfaa.com reporter made a mistake last night. Due to an editing error, the status of the shooting suspect was incorrectly stated in an earlier version of this story.
WFAA reporter Carla Wade in Rockwall and photojournalist John Pellizzari in Greenville contributed to this report.
This is what kdfw is reporting. [quote] A man wanted for the murder of a woman and the shooting of a man in a parking lot in Rockwall Saturday night remains in Dallas hospital after being shot by police.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM ROCKWALL POLICE DEPARTMENT:Rockwall, Texas – On February 16, 2013 at approximately 7:53pm the Rockwall Police Department received a report of a shooting at The Harbor, located in the 2000 Block of Summer Lee. Upon arrival, responding officers found two victims, a male and a female, who had been shot multiple times. The suspect fled the scene but was identified as the ex-boyfriend of the female victim.
At approximately 8:22pm Garland Police Department located the suspect’s vehicle in their city and a pursuit ensued when their officers attempted to stop him. The suspect fled east on IH30 into the City of Rockwall where officers from the Rockwall Police Department and Rockwall Sheriffs Department joined in the pursuit. The pursuit ended in Greenville, Texas when the suspect’s vehicle suffered mechanical problems after being spiked and ramming a Texas Department of Public Safety vehicle.
The suspect then exited his vehicle, pointed a handgun at the officers and was shot by officers on the scene. The suspect was transported to Presbyterian Hospital in Greenville, Texas. The suspect was later flown to Parkland Hospital in Dallas for further treatment.
Both victims were transported to area hospitals but the female victim succumbed to her injuries. The suspect was identified as Anthony Dewayne Lewis 47 years of age. The shooting in the City of Rockwall is currently under investigation by Rockwall Police Detectives. The Texas Rangers are investigating the officer involved shooting that took place in Hunt County. Until we take better care of our vets and LEOs after their service, this type of insanity will continue. Mental health is an issue particularily for those that see this stuff day in and day out yet we expect them to just be fine and move on. PTSD or any other mental defect shouldn't go without notice and treatment. I'm not making excuses for the guy, what he did is inexcusable. Just saying, we need to take better care of those that serve.
