I got back yesterday from kent and dickens. Very wet lots of birds in kent and good birds in dickens. Talked to the manager of Matador Wildlife Preserve. He says quail there will be below average. Rains came too late. Manager of big ranch in dickens county says north end s/b about the same as last year and says the south end sb above last year again rain. My stuff in kent county has had a lot of rain and I saw a lot of quail.

Saw more Quail in Knox City this trip dove hunting than two years ago. That's not saying much but at least it's an improvement. Broke several covies and saw pairs and triples several times. No young birds that I know of, only adults.

I was in Benjamin (Knox county) and saw two nice 10-15 bird coveys, all adults.
