I've been rolling on a pair of ariats since Sept. 2010. they are starting to show a little bit of wear.

how long is the "normal" lifespan of a boot?

I've got boots that I've worn every day for years...dad's got dress boots that he's had for 30+ years...all a matter of how you take care of your boots I suppose.

When I wore Olathe pull ons for work everyday I got about 11-12 months out of a pair. When I switched to Ariat lace ups I got about 9-10 months. Now I went to cheaper more comfortable Herman Survivor lace up work boots and I can get around 13-15 months per pair with daily use.

Don't matter what brand I'll wear them out in a year, the heels wear out from driving all the time. Some of my dress boots are close to 25 years old but I take pretty good care of them.

I've got dress boots that I've had for 5-6 years and they look brand new. But my everyday work boots? Maybe 15 months and I've gotta get new ones. Concrete dust tears them suckers up

I usually get a couple of resoles out of the work boots! Triple X is holding up pretty good so far! Had a pair of Ariats that I wore for about 8 years.....

I got a pair that's 20 years old and still a good pair ofnworkboots. There's almost no sole at the balls of your feet but everything else's good. Take them to the Austin shoe hospital and they can repair the sole.

I have a pair of rocky pull ons I got in 2005. I wore them literaly every day till 2010. In 2010 I got them all covered in mud and left them outside, the entire boot turned green with mold and I wrote them off as lost and they sat there for 3 or 4 months. At that time I needed to run somewhere real quick and saw them by the door on the porch so I grabed them and put them on, they still fit great and were pretty comphy minus the smell... 2 years later in 2012, I still wear them when I got to the ranch, but they are getting pretty rough! I had to glue part of the sole back on and hammered a nail into the side to keep the heel on, but to this day it is the absolutely most comfortable pair fo shoes I have ever worn!

My every day boots now is a pair of justin square toes my fiance got me, and they arent holding up as well, but I do walk about 3 miles a day in them too.

I get just over a year on Red Wing pull on work boots. I wear them everyday.

No but really 1 or 2 years

About a year out of steel toe work boots.

first and last pair of justins i owned lasted about 6 months fore' they got tossed

Duct tape

I don't wear boots, so none.

Clothing repair material right there. Baling wire is becoming a thing of the past so duct tape is a must for lots of repairs these days.

you know what they say about duct tape.....if you can't duct it....

I rotate through 3-4 different pairs of boots, but I work in an office and wear a suit most days.

That being said, I haven't bought a new pair in probably 10 years and still get compliments on a couple of the better looking pairs. The two I wear the most often I've had for around 15 years.

While I work in an office, I do a good bit of walking around, so I get a good many miles out of them. Re-sole an average of about once a year on my two favorite pair.

Bale twine works well in a pinch.

Unless the eyes are ripped then you just duct tape the whole boot.
