Just finished watching the show on tv.

What a stupid show. Defenetely lost respect for them boyz, and regretting having bought tapes from them 10 years ago.
What a stupid pathetic show.
Of course they are killin ducks, they are sittin on a waterfowl managed, flooded 1600 acres private land, in the middle of the best mississipi flyzone you can find.
These guys are just in for the money.
And this show is the least reality you can find, all fixed and the show has 4 writers and 2 producers.....pathetic....
Plus their sense of humor are way below par.

on a side note, Ive met him quite a few times...once got to work with him and sit down to personally talk for about an hour...a great man to talk to, seems to have a great heart, and once again puts God first. Nothin to hate about in my opinion.

Sour grapes...good folks doing what they do best. They have done what any hunter wishes they could do, good at their style of hunting, worked hard at it and God Bless em, making a fine living at it. Just wish my last name was Robertson and hunting with em. They are living the dream we all wish we could just be along for the ride...and in a way we are by watching them hunt. May as well put all hunting/fishing tv celebrities on your list. Best advice, dont watch em if they irritate ya.

This really rubs me the wrong way...you are pretty much saying anyone that works hard/smart and is successful is now greedy. This kind of thinking is what's wrong with America now.

I think the show is hilarious. My favorite on the show is Si's cup.

My wife and I love the show. That's what it is a show. I think it's pretty funny.

I don't see a thing wrong with a man that has gone out into the world and made a living. Seems to be a hard working man that takes the time to raise a family the right way. I don't see them as greedy at all. I admire them all and cheer them on. Is the show a little cheesy, probably! If you open a blind eye there really is a good message and it seems to always focus on family. Nothing wrong in my eyes.

Yep jealousy can do evil things to a man. Are you saying you wouldnt hunt that land because it's highly managed, private, and in an amazing location? If your answer is yes you are lying to yourself. As far as the show being a little corny, it is, but it has to be appealing to everyone including the non hunting community to get ratings.

There are a couple of things about the show I don't like. First, there ain't enough duck killin' goin' on, but that isn't the intent of this show for sure. Second, Willie is the center of it all NOT Phil. Kinda minimizes Phil's success to me.

I wish they killed more ducks but I think/hope they will get to that...killing ducks is a lot of hard work (when you don't pay a guide to kill them) and I hope they are just showing us that even though season isn't open they still work on a lot of the prep stuff.

Perhaps all those years of putting God first in their lives has paid off for them with God's blessings. I don't know. But they are a rarity in our age those who when given a public platform promote God's message of salvation.

btw, I have not seen the show and don't know if they mention their faith on it or not, but I have seen many of the dvd's in which they do. I'm also aware of the many speaking engagments many of the duckmen appear at each year in which they do promote their faith in God.

For me the show is great the way it is...if I want to watch highlight reels of guys shooting ducks there are plenty of those shows. Honestly I quit watching those shows a long time ago...I'd rather just hunt than watch someone hunt. It's not like sports where they do things I could never do like throw a 98mph fastball...I can shoot a duck just as good as the guys on TV...granted they probably have better spots.

i understand everyone is entitled to their opinion...but if you can't find humor in that show you are taking yourself and life too seriously. Sit down with a glass of sweet tea, grab your wife and kids and gather around the tv. Enjoy the show for what it is. At least you won't hear a sh*t load of cursing, you won't see them doing anything other than what rednecks love to do...

Anyone that has a business is in it for money. If you don't make money, you don't have a business. Phil got it started, and Willie is pushing it to be more sucessful, to reach different levels....and provide them a lifestyle in which everyone of us wishes we had.


The show is funny. I'll keep watching. In fact I can't wait until they release this season on dvd, I'll get it for my pops for Christmas and I'll watch it with the whole family during the Christmas holidays

Yeah I think you do know what I mean there Judd. Sure there is tons I can learn but I'll learn it in the field....you really can't learn much from watching those shows...if they actually talked more strategy in hunting shows I'd probably watch them more....but they are 95% highlight reels.

And I'll stand behind what I said about shooting them just as good. To me the act of actually shooting the duck is the easiest part of the hunt that takes the least amount of experience and that's what they are showing the most of. Being able to shoot good doesnt really translate to being able to know where, when, how to set up to have a good hunt.

Little harsh I think. I like the show and don't think their greedy at all. Just some good ol boys who struck gold with what they do. Hard work and a little luck, but not greedy. Their doing exactly what they love to do, providing for their children, and having a good time doing it. Good for them.

These people are my hero's. I would give anything to be able to wear camo everywhere, grow an awesome beard, and hunt for a living. They are living the American dream and the last thing in the world they are is greedy, funny as hell, but not greedy.

I think Si and Jase are the two funniest on the show. I think If I was to hang around those two I could probably manage to get myself into a whole lot of meaningless trouble.

There I alot to say about a man (Phil) who turns down a professional football career because it interferes with duck season.
As a beginning duck hunter 16 years ago I actually learned alot from his toturial videos.
And after watching him preach I would say he is a A+ guy in my book! Everyone should check out his preaching videos on YouTube.

Personaly I say when you have a show like he do s and make some honest money that s fine but also show that it s not like hunting in a regulair way.

Like Beaver I m from Europe too and over here it s all comment on Phil. It s like corn on PETAs windmill... It s almost that you have to feel ashamed if you are a duckhunter or hunter in anyway.

I ll read the THF everyday because I enjoy it and often there are verry interesting topics to read. Your guys culture is much more open to hunting than ours is. Anyway I feel blessed that I have much private land to hunt on and visit countrys all over the world to hunt and make new friends.

Hopefully I can see the duckcommander on my tv one day! It must be a lot more fun than seeing those hopeless newsflashes with mass killers, pedofiles and [censored] storys about our economics...

What they are doing now isn't greed its just business. Yea I'm jealous that's it. I've been shooting Benelli long before the bearded proclaimed duck god even got offered his contract from them. What is there to be jealous of really? I made over 20 hunts last season and on 18 of those hunts everyone limited out. Hmmmm! The DC is turning duck hunting into a sport when it is really an art. And the guy with the midol can save it for himself for next season wen he finishes watching the new DC video then cries about how many commercials are on it.

It's interesting and cute to say but I've got to say in reality it's not true. My hunting has not changed because of what people on TV are doing...I don't set out at the beginning of the season to try to make the playoffs or set records...I do it because it's fun and I love getting out...shooting ducks is a blast but only a small part of duck hunting. There will be those that come into duck hunting because of shows like this but they will either be gone within a few years because it's more like a fad to them or they will learn what duck hunting is really all about. Either way it's good for duck hunting...the more interest in it the more money that goes into lands public and private which translates into more hunting spots and protecting the ones we have now.

Funny reading these types of threads, without anyone saying you can definitely see the different reasons people enjoy the outdoors. Can't say that I agree with them but to each their own. Where the problem arises is when someone starts telling someone else how they should enjoy it.

The SBE had been around for well over a decade, actually close to 2 before the duck men made their change. If you ever watch the first videos you would get the impression that the old man slept with his A5 next to the bed right by his bible. Beaver your pretty tough on a man you have never even met. He travels all over the country on his own dime, spreading the word. He can share my blind or take a seat at my dinner table any day. I really don't give a rats arse what kind of gun he shoots or promotes. If someone was to pay me I would shoot whatever they handed me. In my life I have shot Remington, Mossberg, Browning, Beretta and a lot more. Each one was like a woman, just had to figure each one out.
