I love my Leupold Mark AR but I am looking for something with a higher magnification. Is there anything out there that I can use to stretch out a bit further without totally breaking the bank?

I have a millet lrs-1 and think it's a pretty good value scope. It's a HUGE scope. The biggest I've ever seen. Holds well for my 22-250. Tracks alright but since I sight in at 200 and use the dots, I rarely have a need for tracking. Also I've never shot past 350 with this scope. Clarity is not the best at full magnification. All in all, I'm satisfied with it.

how big is your bank?

America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards. Claire Wolfe

300-400 9x is plenty, beyond that stepping up to a 14 or so power. It depends what you are wanting to do with it. How much you want to invest on it, how much hunting/night hunting you'll be doing etc.

Depends on how much time you spend on the range, not how much you spend on the scope.

I just checked and they are sold out at the moment but looks they have another shipment coming near the end of April if you want to pre-order one.

I think a real value for the bucks is the Mark 4 Leupold in the
Long Range ...They are more pricey than the $200+ to $500 scopes,
but they have positive click adjustments that are returnable, and
way better than average optics..I put a 3X9 Mark 4 on one of my
friends 222 Sako and was more than impressed...I think it was about $950..I do have a Buriss 6x24 w/AO on my 22-250 that's about 8 to 10 yrs old that was about $465...and it is very clear
and has Posi'Loc...I tested it at night agains't a Zeiss,Leupold,
and my 312XTR Burris and it was right there..I could see deer jumping the fence at 10PM, no moon, at over 200yds..DD

stay away from cheap junk like Tasco, BSA, Barska (you get what you pay for) Redfield is a helluva deal, good product. Leapers, Millett also what you pay for.

Pride Fowler RR600 which a scope that can do what no other scope can. It also has some of the best glass you can get.
