I have yet to take a turkey in Fall or Spring and still looking to go to a place that has a decent to high population density of them. Looking for either a Hill Country or possibly Mills, Brown or Coleman County spring turkey hunt. Anyone have anything available? Lodging and meals would not be required.

Thanks...

Want to come out to far west Tx???? I will make you a deal, more so if there are 2 of you. Way cheaper then the web site price, so long as you provide what you stated above.

Come do a hunt with us. It's not Coleman co. but it is on the Runnels/Coleman co. line. We have lots of turkey in the Spring. I been out to Trent's place where Roy guides and they have a lot of birds as well.

What about Roaring Springs, up in Motley County? I've hunted with Don Stuckey up there, every year for the past four years. Just spoke with him; a two-day hunt, including taking two gobblers, goes for just $750. Accommodations are on your own, but there's a nice little B&B and cafe in Roaring Springs. He says they have beaucoup turkeys this year. Gorgeous country, too!

See his Web site at http://www.comancheria-hunts.com/

Dont pay any attention to some of the trash talkers in here. Just your standard freeloaders, looking to get a $1000 experience for $50.

OK--Im not trash talkin anyone but I do have to say that I have pretty much given up on hunting since moving here to Texas 6 mos ago. (Cant afford the fees on disability income) I have been hunting in Ohio and New York where I have lived for the past 18 yrs and Ive taken every game animal that there is a season for in that region and I must say I have never killed a $1000.00 turkey. The fees that are being charged for hunting in this state are just unreal. I have even traveled to Nebraska for Turkey and Pheasant and not had to pay those kind of fees. What is it in this state that makes folks feel they need to charge such outrages fees for a fellow sportsman to have a good hunting experience. Again--Im not bashin anyone here Im just trying to get some kind of understanding as to what makes game animals in Texas worth more than the game Ive killed in my other home states. Im sure its a matter of owning property and tresspass fees or whatever you want to call it--- But I still dont feel there is a $1000.00 turkey in the state of Texas. JMO

No Sir, you aren't trash talking anyone, and believe me, many of us really do understand the situation you are in.

This site has a lot of great folks on it and there may be someone on here that will be willing to help you out, I hope so.

The thing you and a lot of other folks need to realize, is that in Texas, hunting is a business.

It is that simple.

No one that lists hunts on here is forcing ANYONE to book with them, they are just listing what they have to offer.

Last time I looked, there is a rule concerning bashing or trashing guides/outfitters over their prices.

People either need to abide by that rule, or if enough folks do not like seeing guides/outfitters participate and list their services on this site, then take it up with the moderators and let them take it up with the administrator and get things changed.

From what I have seen the guides and outfitters that do offer their services on here are in the middle or lower end of what is going on across the state as far as prices and what the hunter gets for their dollar.

We know that people are not going to be able to afford what we offer, but that does not mean we should be bad mouthed simply for doing business. JUST MY OPINION!

There are plently of full service turkey hunts across Texas to North Dakota for less than $1,000. Only a few places in Texas actually get $1,000 for a turkey hunt and they are the best of the best.

only the best of the best? bull$it, a big nice lodge and a open bar and a chef cooking stuff you can't pronounce dosen't make them the best just the highest priced. as far as turkey hunting goes a mature tom is a mature tom. sorry couldn't hold that in.
