I will add more as I get the information. Team Murphey's Archery Pro-Staff members will be required to shoot in these tournaments not every time but as many as you can and the one closest to you.

I will check it out. I have been wondering how I compare. I have been shooting about six years now but not competive. I have been shooting for fun and hunting.

Wes, do they have web sites? Where do they hold these tournies? Do I have a string on the way? I know questions, questions, questions. Inquiring minds got to know.

Cowtown Bowmen is back. We have just aquired 114 acres just a few miles from the old range. We have been working hard to get the range up and going. The new address is 9900 Watercress in Fort Worth. Go to www.cowtownbowmen.com for more range info. Give me or any of the officers a shout.

I would also like info on the collin county shoots. What town is it out of? I have a buddy in Greenville and he and I are wanting to start shooting 3-d again after 10 years.

Any of these tourneys you can shoot at. I am not sure what would be the closest to you.

Is there anyplace in San Antonio that you can go shoot at a 3-D range? I have only owned a bow for about a year and think it would be fun to try, not in a tournament but just to practice different shots.

Go to your local archery shop. They should be able to tell you of a place to shoot. Most of the archery clubs will let you shoot for practice but you will have to be a member of the club.

Dang it, I wanna get into 3d so bad it is killing me! Do you have to be a member of all these clubs to go shoot the tourneys??
Can you shoot Cowtown for fun when they aren't running tourneys?? I would want to shoot a few rounds before I jumped right into a tournament.

What class do you shoot, Wes??

I have not seen club that you have to be a member to shoot. Most of them make you pay a few bucks more to shoot but you still shoot.

dac6933 is right. I payed $15 today as a non-member. I shoot the hunter class.

I did not do so good today. Scored 180 out of 420 on on 30 targets. This was my first 3D tourny in 10 years.

You can shoot as a non member. Members pay $10 and non members pay $15 for the tournament. Yearly memberships for Cowtown are $55 for the family. If you are a member you can use the range anytime you want. You can get more info at www.cowtownbowmen.com

My wife and I are buying a place sometime after april, probably in springtown, and I already told her if we get a wooded lot with about an acre or 2, then I am gonna order 10 or so 3d targets and gonna have my only little range that I can set up whenever.
Would be fun!

I am new to the metroplex area and have been wanting to get back into the 3-D shoots. Shot out in the west Texas area for 15 plus years until I moved into this area in 2004. Could you please tell me where your club is now shooting and is it ok for newbies to come join the fun at anytime. Look forward to your reply.

If you find out any info about shooting in the SA area let me know. I live in SA as well. I am thinking about joining a club if there is one around. I just want to shoot!! I am pretty new to archery as well. I have only been shooting a couple of years.

Hey Wes If you ever want to hold 3D tournament I have plenty of land we just need the targets/stands. Caddo Mills is only about 40 miles east of Dallas so the drive is not to bad.

LSBA shoot. How it go? What was the high score for the bowhunters? This is something to remember most of your shooters are bow hunters not long distance shooters. They will come out of the wood work to shoot a LSBA. I have been there. If you ask around you find that someone will know me there. I shoot for 10 years in Bryan. I was on the broad at the club for years.
I can tell you if you keep it set up for bowhunts and just set a few out there. you have a better shoot and a lot of them will come back and shoot more at the club, but if you kill them they won't be back , but they will talk bad about the club for years...If you have tie have a shoot off. When you have 90% of the club is bowhunts and they are happy then you doing the right thing.. Don't get stuck on its legeal and its a LSBA shoot.. Lynn Atkinson

What would be the closest club to the Rockwall area. Several of us are interested in getting back into shooting 3D and indoor shoots

I found a really nice 3-D shooting range in Dallas this weekend when my husband and I were taking our bowhunter safety course. Place is called Texins ( www.dallasarchery.com ) Really nice place and thinking of joining the family $120 a year.

I remember cursing that course in Bryan b/c of the flock of turkeys that were set up @ the LSBA shoots

but anyone know if any of these places still have tourneys..

Wells (Cherokee Bowhunters), Springtown, Cowtown, Cleveland, Nacogdoches...and perhaps has Lufkin (Pineywood Bowhunters) started holding shoots somewhere that I'm not aware of?

There will soon be tournaments in Cherokee, Tx. In between llano and San Saba. They have ordered the targets. Cherokee Archery Club I believe that is the name its will be called. As soon as they get the targets in they will start advertising. Will post information as I get it.
