We are very excited about this new Group Buy. This will be for the new 300 AAC Blackout and will have a threaded muzzle! These ER Shaw barrels have the following specification:

Savage Small Shank, Standard Sporter Contour, 16.5” length, 300 AAC Blackout, 1-8” rate of twist, 4140 Gun Grade Chrome Moly Steel, provided “in the white”. Muzzle threaded 5/8-24 and features a .9" seating shoulder.

We will be doing this one a bit different from the previous offerings in that we will be taking a $25 deposit. We will generate an invoice shortly after your order is placed and apply the deposit to that invoice. The balance will be charged to you at the time of shipping.

Regards,

Lance Skok

I have had some questions on what "in the white" means. These barrels do not come blued. They can be kept in the white or you can use your choice of coating (bluing, DuraCoat, Cerakote, etc.

I've never changed out the barrels on my Savages, or any gun for that matter. Would this work on my 110 270 or 10 308? Whats involved? Just unscrew the barrel nut and the barrel and put on the new one?

This barrel with work with either the 110 or 10. It is better suited for your model 10 since it is a short action.

You will need to buy/borrow a barrel nut wrench and headspace gauges to install the new barrel.

If you start with a 223 (or 204) all you need to do is swap the barrel. But in your case with a 308 you need to swap the bolt head, magazine box and follower for 223 parts.

If I had a short action savage laying around I would be on this like a fat kid on a brownie. I want a .300 bad, but its too close to Christmas.

These are slated to ship in March and all I'm asking is a $25 deposit.

I'm locking in the quantity for the order on Monday. Anyone thinking of one make sure to get your order in to guarantee you get one.

Regards,

Lance

I have had some questions on why I picked a sporter contour and why the taper at the muzzle. The sporter contour was picked to provide the lightest weight possible. I built a 300 Blackout on a 16" varmint profile and it was just just to heavy in my opinion. The muzzle "flare" is designed to give you a little extra shoulder if you are adding a sound suppressor. You could also add on a flash suppressor instead, which I think would probably look pretty nice.

Here is a pic of a Model 7 with a barrel of similar design:

We are not offering a group buy varmint contour at this time for the 300 Blackout.

Thanks,
Lance
