Took my seven year old daughter for her first hunting trip and she was so excited until we went to set up our like new blind and it broke right at the hub. bangShe was very disappointed. We were to far from home to get a stand so we made a makeshift natural blind.Well we got busted. It probably caught some movement since my daughter was looking back and forth trying to see a deer.I've only used it twice before this trip.

That's too bad it broke. Did she enjoy building the natural? A trip you'll both always remember. Good for you.

Yeah she just learned a great lesson,Dad taught her how to make do with what you have available. That's neat that she's into it.Some of the best hunters I've hunted with were women. They seem to have endless patience.

She really is a trooper and will make an awesome hunter one day.I took her dove hunting for the first time as well this season and she brought me some luck. When we went to clean birds she said ewhhh on the first one and the fourth one she did!She got right in there and I even told her I would clean it.

That is aweful. I am sorry to hear that. I have some bonecollector blind that I paid 200 bucks for...it works for now and will be fine but I don't think it will last more than a couple more seasons. my buddy has some blind that he bought from a hunting show and it is AWESOME...so much better than mine and will last forever. I guess you get what you pay for. Mine is already showing signs of wear and getting holes and what not...again, sorry to hear about that. if it makes you feel any better...I set my blind up a month ago and brushed it in and all that, got all excited only to find out that my feeder has not gone off in the last 28 days...that was a fun morning

Funny, but I rarely remember the times every thing went right. Adversity builds character, patients, skills, and fond memories.

Your right Erathkid,I guess everything happens for a reason. She didn't give up and learned how to improvise.

I bought a ameristep brickhouse last season and left it out all year...ofcourse fell apart. Bought a new one this year, and as soon as I was setting it up, one the poles broke. Luckily skeleton of the old blind was around and I just removed a piece off of it and replaced the broken part. Its a handy blind to bow hunt out of but not very durable. Putting it away as soon as bow season is over. On another note I think I may build a DIY hay bale blind out of the skeleton of the broken one...maybe we'll get to cut some hay next year!!

I bought a Ameristep Bone Collector and it broke first time, exchanged for another one, we'll see how it goes. I like the design, so simple to setup and take down. compact to carry on back.

I got 2 of the brickhouse blinds last year and left them out all season. Just set them back up this weekend with zero problems and they still looked good as new.

I think they have updated the new blinds. My blind had aluminum ends on the poles going into the hub and the new ones look like something else besides aluminum.Ameristep is sending replacement parts to fix mine.
