More specifically, the southeast side of Houston. Anybody know of a good one around town?

Daniel - I tried Midway in Katy once, wasn't pleased when I saw their sausage making...more made than just your OWN deer at one time.

still not quite the Southeast side, but B&W Meat Market on N Shepherd is GREAT. I prefer their sausage to Midway (I have both in my freezer now) Quite reasonable pricing. I like the garlic smoked sausage the best. Not a strong garlic flavor, just a fuller flavor.

My 2nd choice is Pete's on Richmond. GREAT tamales and jerkey. Also makes a fine polish sausage. They are a little more expensive than B&W, but the tamales are worth it.

Both great places also! I started making my own stuff years ago but I haven't dove into smoked links yet, that's where Cernoch's comes in. I'd be happy to give you guys some to try if you're around town, still have quite a bit left.

Yak,

There is a place in Pasadena I use - Bay Area Deer Processing. It's on Pasadena Blvd. I believe... It's not too overpriced IMO but I sometimes have issues with the amount of meat I get back. If/when I complain the amount usually goes up with my next deer. I would recommend you give them a try once and see what you think. I use them b/c the price and they are close to me in El Lago. They make good sausage too. Pick up time is usually less than two weeks.
