I am looking at adding something to the corn in my spin feeder to give it a little extra attracting power. I already have some Deer Cane so I was wondering if that would be good to add to corn? Do Golden Deer Nuggets work well in feeders? What other types of attractants or feed additives work good to add with corn? Thanks.

I have tried adding different things to corn in a feeder and I decided that the corn alone did as well as anything. I have used Golden Deer Nuggets in a spin feeder too and they worked fine. They have a good smell to them but I don't think they attract deer any better than straight corn. You might try mixing in some protein pellets.

Roasted soybeans are good. But I buy a product called STAMPEDE, made by Micobe Feed in Hamilton, that is a mixture corn/roasted soybean. Works really in spin-cast feeders.

I don't see why you would need anything more than corn to get the deer.

With acrons out of the pictures for most areas this year, Corn Feeders are going to get hammered. And with the price of corn being what it is, you don't need anything else.

All you need is corn for an atractand, anything els is a gimic from somebody trying to turn a dime.
Not saying other things are not more beneficial to the deer like protein peas soybeans and such, just that as a pure attractant it dont really get better than corn... now water might be.

Be careful about adding attractants to your spin feeders -- especially powdered or granular products as these absorb moisture and will gum up the feed, prevent it from dropping onto the spinner and your corn will sour.
Corn is a powerful attractant in and of itself. Having said that, I have had success with both Feeder Fire and Swamp Donkey pellets. Deer found it within hours and hit it before moving to the corn. Expensive too.

Bakers Vanilla is hands down the best just dont put to much in there about 1/4 bottle and start on the outside and spirral it to the center. All the deer will be at yours 10-1 to other feeders around you.
