I had a membership once. Never again...

All they did was sent me a bunch of letters asking for more money, information about life insurance, and a catalog to coax me into buying some NRA gear.

Also, no NRA subsidized range allows full auto, so they will not be getting another penny of my money.

Building, shooting, and buying machine guns of all shapes and sizes.

I have been a Life Member for nearly twenty years. I rarely receive any junk mail from the NRA. I might get solicitations from them 2-3 times a year. American Hunter shows up regularly. If you are a gun owner in the U.S.A., you should be an NRA member. They are far from perfect but they wield some serious horsepower as lobbyists.

Yea, the marketing and fearmongering is the downside to membership. No one else is going to lobby for gun rights though. I just purchased two crossbreed supertucks. NRA member discount on the order was about $15.
