As stated above...axle grease/cayenne pepper works GREAT! Been doin it for years and ZERO coon problems crawling up feeder legs and we have more than our share of coons. The smell does'nt bother the deer at all.

Also a bowl of fly bait and Dr. Pepper set in a tree nearby...they eat it and run off and dont come back...
