I came across around 100 spent rounds of Activ 12ga. Shells are all plastic with a metal bottom covered in plastic. Shells are red with Activ stamped on one side and a bee an the other side with "3 dr.-1oz.". I found this little write up on them but dont know why they are not made any more. Can they still be reloaded? Are they a skeet or sporting clay type shell? Any help would be great. http://www.ballisticproducts.com/bpi/articleindex/articles/activ_info1/activhulls.htmThanks.

Sure but I don't have any idea where to even tell you to start looking for a recipe. You might post on the reloading page on shotgun world...lot of old timers there that might be able to point you in the right direction for some data. Good luck...I remember shooting them as a kid and thought they were cool

They are a straight wall hull with "about" the same internal capacity as a Federal Gold Medal.
I have an old Lyman shotshell reloading manual at the house that I think has loads listed for the Active hulls. Let me know if you need/want any recipe's.

I used to load them with Reddot and 1 1/8oz load used them for dove hunting. The above statement is true I loaded them the same as gold medals.

I have an Activ data book at home, and can supply some load data. Activ hulls had about the highest capacity of any hull ever made, typically requiring the use of Activ wads for the lighter loads (their wads being longer, to consume some of the internal volume). I still have lots of their 20ga hulls, but have not reloaded them in yrs. They are good hulls, and their factory ammo was good. Not sure why they went away.

I found a little info on them. Apparently the factory burned down and never reopened.
