After five years with pigs being all around our lease in Comanche, we finally got 'em! So far nobody has killed any, but won't be long. They keep showing up around feeders!

I love hogs too. We took 600# on the hoof last weekend. But I won't be feeding them protein if I can help it. Time for a feeder pen. And like others have said, they will destroy your feeders if they aren't anchored down.

Yep. If it's still standing, they will have at a minimum knocked all the feed out of it.

It won't be long and that feeder will be on the ground.

Feeding hogs and cows $8.00 a bag corn will get old REAL QUICK!!!

I hear you guys! Ain't no newbie with these vermin....it's just been a long time since I've had to deal with them! So far all we have seen are those seven, and they appear to have come out of the same litter! I hadn't had any problems with cattle until we got a new leasee on the grazing. He's brought in a bunch a new cattle, and my feed pen was really loose.

I tightened up the pen, have hog panels standing by for my next trip to the lease, plus spotlights, and hog draw! The PIG WAR IS ON! !!

I hunt in comanche county close to priddy and we have no hogs. That is how I would like to keep it to. I have had them before and with the price of corn I don`t ever want to see them again.

Try your best to do something about it now or.......
In six months or less, several of those pigs you see in the picture will have a bunch of little one's, and six months later those same hogs, and then those little ones wil be having liters of their own!

Your protien feeder will smell like a pig pen from all the pig carp, and you'll be feeding mostly hogs, and the deer will avoid it just because of the stench because they carp where they eat.

By the looks of all that grass under that feeder it hasn't been there that long, but the cows and the hogs will turn it over once they figure out they can!

Congrats, but as the others have said.... be careful what you wish for.
When I hunted Mason Co, the 1st 2-3 years we had pigs was great. Everyone would shot a couple and they would be gone. The last 5 years we were there, you had pigs at the feeder every morning. We were shooting 50-60 a year and didn'tput a dent in them.
I just got off a lease in Dublin and I had one pig on camera in 3 years.... loved it! Didn't have to worry about the pigs tearing up the feeders.... the cows did it!

That one is already spoken for....but there are about 18 others you can choose from! LOL!

Since we are gone so much during the week....we may have to put out hog traps! And, no one hunts on the ranches west and north of where the pigs are located on our lease, so they are not getting pressured. Right now, they are feeding during the late night and early morning.

Hopefully, we can get to them before they start makin more bacon!
