Smashed my middle finger last night, between the vehicle door and frame. It shut all the way on my finger. Anyhow got a blood blister, almost immediately. I knew that was coming. But it seems I ran fever last night confused2 and I am also getting shooting pains up my arm now. Weird.

That is weird. Never heard of anything like that. You think the finger is broken?

That doesn't sound good. Any swelling/heat along your arm? You really need to get it looked at.

Yep. Not that it's true medical advice, but I remember an episode of House where a doctor at the North Pole (I think) was sick. Turned out something to do with a broken toe. If only they had her remove her shoes and socks in the first five minutes of the show there wouldn't have been an episode...grin

Yeah it has swollen, but I have been icing it. The other discomfort is the shooting pains up my arm. Just wierd on the fever, unless I am catching something, but came on about the same time. I don't think it's broken, really tender, of course.

I recently had a fold-up chair collapse and smash a finger so bad I had to punch a hole through the fingernail to relieve the pressure and throbbing pain. That did the trick!

+1. Did that back in high school after I dropped a ream of steel on my thumb. It worked.

It was actually painless as the nail was almost completely detached. Took a month to finally fall off. I don't think there are nerves in the nail anyway. It sure felt better the instant I poked it. If you ever decide to do it, sterilize the needle with a lighter first.

Hey mag. Where is the blood blister? Under the nail? Outside on the finger?

Around the nail, not underneath, yet anyway
