The hogs have finally dug out some pretty deep holes under some of my corn feeders. I am looking for the simplest and easiest way to fill them in.
I have considered getting sackrete and mixing with water and filling with the concrete mix. Only problem is that I don't have easy access to water. Any idea how much water it takes for one sack of sackrete. I am sure that I will need more than 1 sack though.
What about filling the holes back with dirt and then putting a large plywood board on top of that? Any other ideas as the holes are getting pretty bad and fill with water when it rains.

Some of the feeders are in a pretty rocky area and I have filled the holes with rocks and some big ones too, but the hogs just push them right back out. Wouldn't they do the same thing with the concrete pave stones??

fill with dirt.
put down x amount of wire panels (enough to cover rooted area) and stake the panel down sufficiently to not be uprooted. The hogs will not encroach the covered area because their hooves split the wire and it irritates them. will still feed all around it

I dunno but it sounds like you need to do some hog slayin IMO. They will just push the plywood and pave stones around too. I think your best bet would be to stake some cattle panels out laying flat on the ground so they cant root any larger than the holes in the panels. Never tried it but sounds good theoreticaly.
No doubt about the AR crap, just damn shame hunters don't have self control and knowledge

I think they are there for good my friend, unless you want to spend some money, I would keep them they will be good during the hot months with the little rain you get, deer could use them to drink from, but then again hogs could use them to waller in. I have just always left them.

It takes about 1 gallon of water per bag ready-mix for a good mix. One 80# bag = about 1 cubic ft. concrete. If water is in the hole, pour in dry sacrete and mix with a hoe.

I'm guessing you don't want to put hog panels around your feeder to make it "deer only"?

we usually just move the feeders 5 yards or so in any direction and those holes will miraculously fill themselves in as the year wears on and they start digging another one.

I had the same problem. I used 2x4's to frame a base. Filled it with sand and gravel (from a nearby creekbed). Mixed two sacks of Sackcrete into a wheelbarrow and poured it on top. 2 five gallon gas cans will hold enough water to mix.
coffee spelled backwards is eeffoc. I don't give eeffoc until I have my morning coffee.

pour sackrete in the hole and let God do the rest. he has a funny way of getting water to places that have no water (rain) and then you dont have to worry about panels or fences. just sackrete and alittle rain water.

I got some 1/4" plate and made some 2'x2' "feet" for the feeder legs and drove a metal stake about 3' long into the ground through a hole in the "feet". I then drove some t-posts beside the feeder legs and wired it to the feeder legs. Also put some 3'x3' pieces of hog panel flat on the ground and wired it to the t-post and feeder legs. Problem solved.
If you are having coon/squirrel problems try putting some 4"-6"OD pvc pipe about 18"-24" long on the feeder legs about halfway up. They can't crawl up the legs with the pvc on there.

like a cpl other have mentioned, you can STAKE down a panel under your feeder and it willl stop them BUT make sure you cover the intire area that your feeder will sling corn !!
or you can just go buy ATLEAST 8 panels and put up a pen around your feeder !!
if you dont do something the pigs will eventually knock your feeder over and tear the heck out of your gear
