Hands Down the very best "hole-in-the-wall" BBQ is Daddy Sam's in Carthage, Texas. It blows everything else outta the water, we go out of our way to hit that place up every chance we can.
Best "known" BBQ place is Country Tavern in Kilgore, Texas too bad it costs an arm and a leg just to eat lunch there!
Where do ya'll enjoy eating, as a Landman I am constantly on the road but love discovering the mom and pops and greasy spoons that make Texas such a great state for down home cookin'

Yep. There is a little shack in Centerville across from Woodys that has the best BBQ sandwich I have found.

well jims bbq in waskom is also great place to try plus they have steaks and catfish also.its right off i-20 last texas exit.

Country Tavern is WAY over-rated.
Carter's BBQ in Longview on South Eastman Rd. is pretty good and a thousand times better than Country Tavern.

Thrall's, just east of Nac on hwy 21. Burger's are dang good as well.
Butcher Boys in Nac is pretty good as well, but I have a hard time eating bbq when I can get their chicken fried steak.

In Tyler, on Beckham near the hospitals, Stanley's BBQ has great sandwitches and ribs. The "Brother-in-Law" has my mouth drooling now!

I also remember the Bar-B-Q House in Nac on the north end of town with the big Hereford on the roof being pretty darn good too, but it's been a while.

Has anyone eaten at the BBQ place in Lillian it is very good. It is inside an old gas station. Casstevens BBQ is real good.

Best to me, is Black Jack BBQ Grill and Bar in Commerce. Awesome Ribs and Potato Salad. "Bubbles" is the BEST bartender EVER!
