will this bullet shoot in a 22-250 sendero w/ a 12/14 twist barrel and if so how does it perform on whitetails? Any advise would be helpful b-4 buying some to try out. Thanks

I tried them in a 1:14" twist and it slung them all over the paper. The 1:12" MIGHT stabilize them a little better, but I wouldn't count on any degree of accuracy. If you can get them to shoot accurately, they will do a good job on deer and hogs.

This rifle will shoot 55 gr. hornady ballistic tips in the same hole, but won't shoot a deer w/ this bullet. Federal has a 55 gr. blitzking, any opinions on this one? Thanks

The 55gr BlitzKing is an explosive bullet made by Sierra for varmints. I would not recommend it for deer, unless you are willing/able to wait for perfect broadside presentations.

Can't answer your question regarding the required twist for the 60gr Partition. But I understand that the 53gr TSX bullet is a good one for deer from a 22-250.

55 gr blitzking are great for neck shots... not so much on body.

53 grain TSX are awsome if you can get them to group.. same with Partitions

I shot a 140lbs cull buck at 60yds with a federal premium 60gr. hollow point 22-250 and I hit him right in the boiler room(broad side). That guy went 80yds even with a bum foot leaving ZERO blood to track in a heavy fog.

Didnt take long to find but that situation could have gone bad very quickly so im leaving the 22-250 at home for deer from now on.

But they did group well in my Ruger 22-250, if you are dead set on the 22-250 for deer I would use the barnes TSX, those bullets really make the difference in sub calibers.

If you want to shoot deer behind the shoulder, use Speer 70 gr. semipoint. They shoot good in 1 in 12 twist.

I have shot both the 53 tsx and 60 grain nosler partitions. They both did well and killed many animals but I think they partitions penetrated deeper. On several instances the tsx didnt exit but the partitions always did.

I switched to tsx recently and will soon be going back to the partitions as soon as I run out.

barnes all the way! reload them at around 3700 fps, they just light up deer and hogs! nothing has walked more then 10 yrds! the furthest 275 yards. these are big south texas deer. neck or body.

55 gr Nosler ballistic tips on top of 37 gr of H4350 = 3300 fps, out of my old Ruger 77 tang safety . What I used to kill the last 9 texas deer I have killed. Farthest any went was 50 yds, and that was a heart shot at 245 yds. All others have been shot in the neck and are DRT.

My Yote toys,
Ruger 77 22-250
Foxpro 416B & numerous hand calls

i would use the .22-250 as a neck gun only...i've killed plenty of animals with it but its iffy with a body shot
