make sure you pay attention to the rainfall. Me and cable decided to go out in the ran last year and ran into a little pickle. It rained for hours nonstop, and as we were walking back to the truck, we noticed that the ankle deep creek we crossed on the way to the spot was now almost chest deep. We were pretty much stranded, but decided to drive through about 3 feet of water to get out. Needless to say nothing bad happened, but it could have been really bad.

Be happy you have rain. Out here in west texas we got no rain. Which means no ducks. Which means, start planning for next year. So be glad you have rain, I know it sucks. But it is really better than not having any rain nor water in the playas out here.

I was going out today, too, but I have a TON of respect for lightning. Before the alarm today I heard thunder rolling. Alarm off, got caught up on sleep instead.

I've had 3 close calls so I don't push my luck anymore. Too old for that.

I'm glad it's raining too. In my hole, the water is shallow and I want to make sure I can get in there by boat. Otherwise I'm screwed.

I called Charlie the Duck Dog and Cable at 3:45 AM and we decided to let the hard stuff pass and meet up at 6:30 instead.

Walked outside at 5:45 and it was still pouring.

Oh well, that's the way it goes sometimes. We'll get 'em next week.

I heard one thunder clap this morning and hit snooze. Never heard another one and went out sat in the rain in my layout blind and got my first 3 greenheads.

I saw those pics, congrats.

The way I see it is hey, you went, you put out your decoys, you called them in, you were hunting.

Who cares if you blasted them on the water, I don't. It seems to me that you were maximizing the situation. Way to go!

I could have left that part out of the story, but I thought it was too strange to get 3 with one shell not to tell it. I was hoping the other 2 would flush but it was not to be. Just put a tighter choke in this morning too.

Some of my all time best hunts have been in the middle of, or right between thunderstorms.

I was debating whether to go Thursday or today. Glad I went yesterday. The weather man was right for once.

I'm just tired on the rain, the water is actually TOO deep in the part of my pond I want to hunt, was almost there last weekend, then this rain comes through and fills the thing back up again.

Eevinrude and I went out with a third in spite of the rain. Quit as we pulled up to the lake. A quick boat ride and we were setting up in warm, muggy conditions. Saw plenty of birds early. It's raining tonight. I don't know how much it will rain through the night.

Rain or shine my dog and I will be out at the lease in the morning. That's what my camo rain gear is for.

I have no reservations about the rain, but my friend on the coast said it'd be a waste of time to hunt since everything is flooded.

I did get to hunt this morning but I'm so bored sitting in the tripod stand waiting for only 1 deer as I type this.
