I have been out there the last two weekends and things have been super slow! Even the lease President who has been on the lease 17 yrs said he has never seen it this slow. Anyways, I decided to skip this weekend and take a little time off as not to get discouraged. The only hope I see for getting a buck this year would more than likely be the rutting phase. So, my question is for all you Red River County hunters. have y'all seen any signs of the rut kicking up the last week?

I hunt just N. of Detroit but haven't been in 2 weeks. I'll let you know what we see Sunday night when I get back. I hope to have some pics to show as well.
BTW, all anyone has seen since October 1 is a small 4 point and 1 doe. Extremely slow so far this year.

I shot a 12 point on Davy Crockett National forrest in south east texas. Deer were definitely starting to rut as well. I would put a picture on here but not sure how too. It is on my IPHONE..Saw alot of bucks chasing does... On my place in Fannin County bucks were chasing does last week. Saw alot more bucks than what we had been seeing...

I hunt in Titus co. and from what I have seen the rut is on and has been on for about 2 weeks. Bucks were/are moving on a daily basis during the broad open daylight. It is possible that some does have gone out of estrus for the first cycle in your area so bucks have slowed down their movement till the does come back in for the second time.

I hunt next to Red River Co. in Franklin Co. and the rut seems to be the same around here. I shot a 9pt Saturday morning (11-14) that was chasing a doe, but I havent seen much else chasing. Been a weird year so far

I hunted this morning(11-21) near Sulphur River and east of Talco. I saw a spike chasing a doe and I do mean chasing, they went thru the food plot so quick, couldn't even get the gun up. Only saw 1 other doe.

All of the bucks I have seen in the last 4 days, have been by themselves. The doe are coming in groups, but no bucks are following. I seen a good 8 point with a doe, but he was laying down beside a young 3 or 4 point. I guess they are done for right now, but it will pick back up.
