Yesterday afternoon took a friend of mines son bow hunting got him in his stand and strapped in, and off to my hunting spot. I got settled in about 330 and by a little after 4 a group of 10 turkeys started there way across the wheat field towards me. They decided that they would go to an old road that was cut through the timber instead come by me, while i was enjoying the turkeys i just happend to look to my left and there a doe fawn was just 7 feet from the base of my tree, and the wind blowing right to her. After watching her for a few minutes i looked a little deeper in the timber and i saw this fawns mom. She was an old smart doe that has been around for a while and she soon followed the fawn but with caution. she kept throwing her nose in the air but just couldnt figure out what she was smelling. she came to edge of the field and presented me with a 20 yard shot. I make the draw settle my twenty yard pin and release, I saw her duck and all that happend was she got a cut and a haircut. I know she is all right because i saw her to night, but she stayed at about 60 yards to night. I have shot a lot of deer with a bow but never had one duck an arrow, but i guess there is a first for everything

Yes a quiet and fast bow helps but its no cure. If the deer is on alert already and nervous she will jump at a twig breaking. Ive had one jump the string on me before and yes its a bad feeling.

It's worse when you stick them wrong. I always shoot low because they always seem to drop. I've had them drop 2' before the arrow gets there on a 25 yard shot. Seems impossible, but I have video.

All the time! They usually duck the arrow so I always aim a little low and it usually nails the mark! Good luck and thats why bow hunting is such a rush! cheers
