Looking for lightweight, waterproof, non-insulated hunting boot with ankle support.
I'm hunting in E. Texas, so it is usually wet at times, ankle deep water, and lots of soft sand. During the summer when maintaining hunting sight, there are lots of thorns and vines to work through.
Looking at the Rocky's Moc-Toe Outback Boot and the Danner Pronghorn. This group seems partial to Danner, and was leaning that way, but little hesitant because of store website reviews complaining about Danner Pronghorns leaking.
Any thoughts or recommendations?

I prefer Irish Setter boots, they are the most comfortable boot that I have ever worn. You should check them out as well.

I like Rocky's. I wear Eliminator's in black for non-insulated, great boots. Ricky is one of the best companies to deal with if you ever have to have customer service too....
I had a customer that had a brand new pair of rockies.... worn once... aneighbor's dog grabbed one and ran.... he looked and looked and never found the boot. He called Rocky to ask about buying ONE boot.... they laughed and sent him a new....pair.

I'm still wearing mine every weekend and they are water proof, very lightweight, and extremely comfortable. When I do wear out my ForEverlast snake boots, I will without a doubt whatsoever get another pair. I've got two feet that pain the crap out of me courtesy of diabetes and those boots are actually more comfortable then the $150/pair New Balance sneakers I wear! I wouldn't be here pimping something that I do not like, friend or no friend involved!

I splurged not too long ago and bought some Filson Highlanders on a good friend's recommendation. They're pricey but they're incredibly comfortable and well made. I'm enjoying them now, but I expect I'll enjoy them even more when 8-10 years have passed and I'm still wearing them.

All depends on how much $$$ you are willing to fork over. If money is no object, get a pair of Russells...
