Getting ready to upgrade to a higher end binocular. Have been looking at the Vortex Raxor 10X42 and really like the way it feels and the glass seems to be very good. I compared it with the EL and of course it does lack a little but is it worth the extra grand? I only have experience in the store and havent got to use them in the field. With a rebate the razor is only 669 so just wanted to get anyones opinion on that model! thanks

Go over to 24hourcampfire.com. They've hashed and re-hashed the Vortex binos to death, and everyone loves them. Also, in your price range would be the Zen-Ray, Minox, and Weaver Grand Slam.
I think you can find a better price on the Razor over there too. Before you buy the Vortex, consider the Zen-Ray ED2. The optics are on par with the higher Euros, although they may not fit you quite like the Vortex.

If they are twice as good then they will be great.

The Razor and the Meopta run right with each other, both exceptional glass for the money.. IMO... The biggest differance is the warrenty and CS of Vortex is 2nd to none... Haven't heard to many good things on Meopta, have heard they have gotten better but not much.

If I had to pick between Razor and meotpa is would come down to the best deal $$$
