Good hiking shoes/boots recommendations?

I have Wolverine high top boots for serious cold weather deer/bird hunting, but usually just wear New Balance walking shoes for most of my everyday walking/hiking/tromping thru the woods activities.
I'm looking for a good hiking boot for everyday woods walking/hiking wear. Looking for low top or mid-high shoes/boots.Waterproof would be good as the last three weekend campouts have had very heavy dews with wet shoes within 5 minutes of walking through the coastal fields.
Any recommendations?

Russell Moccasins!
They're spendy but worth every penny, IMO.

i am a big fan of merrill for the lighter duty stuff. but what i always do when looking for new boots is make a trip to cabelas and try on all the different pairs to get the best fit.
depending on the price delta, i usually buy from cabelas, but i do shop the price online once i know what i like.
i also check the bargain lane at academy. they seem to have lots of the hunting boots on clearance at end of Dec. last year i found the exact same pair of merrill's i bought at cabelas for $119 on clearance at academy for $49.
nice thing about cabelas is you can return them if you hate them after a real world evaluation...

Make sure you check w/Cabelas about their new return policy as it has changed recently----not as generous as before.
Don't ask how I know.....

Keen.
Their Targhee is good, but overall they work well.
Merrell's are ok, Hi-Tec's at least the old ones, held up well.
Danners are pretty much indestructible.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have looked at Columbia, Timberland, Nevados and several other brands at Academy.
I have looked at some Merrells(Moab, I think) and the Keen Targhee at Gander Mt.
I'm not close to Cabela's so that is out. I have tried several Hi-Tec models and it seems some Hi-Tec seem to fit better than others in the same size.
Haven't tried on any Danner or Russell but will check those too.
I like the Merrell best of the ones I have tried so far, but I will keep looking.
I will check Zappo's for sure.
Thanks again.

I got a pair of Zamberlans for an Alaska hunt last year. VERY lightweight, warm but not too warm, sturdy and very waterproof. Not sure of the model name, but it was something like "Hiker Light" or "Trek Light".
I wear them all the time now. Great boot.

Those Russell and Zamberlan shoes and boots look really good but they are pretty proud of them.
One pair of the Zamberlan's was over $400!
I think I'll keep looking. lol

They are pretty pricey, but they have been outstanding boots. I'm a big fan of Rocky boots too, but I always wear the soles out.
