How do you get your dogs there, and how do you hunt them once you're there? Mine is pretty simple. I can load my three dogs and hunt anywhere in Texas. Some people would rather walk. I did for years, but now I ride while hunting. You'll find more birds, but shoot a whole lot less. I prefer this over a Jeep:

I had almost the same set up except a trailor and a mule.

I am sure glad I am not driving the truck with that much wait that far back.

I actually like the Mule better. I went with the gator cause I could it onto my pickup. It does not drive all that bad. I use my friends trailor when we take more than three dogs. Here you go:

We try to do a nice combo of both. Ride unt we get a point and then walk until we are satisfied with our results. Just being out there is awlays the best part.

Here's a cheap way to set up a UTV. The double plastic works better. I used this rig while waiting to get my diamond plate box built.

I walk, I need the exercize and enjoy the quite (but only a few years from wanting a ride). The dogs travel as comfortable as I can make it. Chet - where did you get your dog box? Looks like one that D-Lux used to make. They no longer have a website active.

It is a D-LUX box. Just tried to find their site and no luck. Guess they are a thing of the past. Disapointing, I love the box............

Thanks Chet. I was afraid of that. I prefer the material they used vs. diamond plated aluminum. Wish I had a way to track them down to build a box for me.
Thanks again!

Here's a homemade rig I helped a friend put together. It features a double plastic dog box.

Very nice rigs guys. Bill, I sure like that shinnery country in the picture above. Were is it?
I am on my third mule and have had great luck with all of them. My current mule is equiped with a 6 dog diamond plate box with a bench seat on top. Storage rack on front for water, water pans etc., a winch, top, essex lift kit and tires. It rides on a 12ft tandem trailer, and is pulled by a F350 Crew Cap, with a 10 hole diamond plate topper. I cannot afford a camera to take pictures. My only complaint with the current rig is the dog box on the mule and the lift kit makes the mule top heavy and when roading it can start to sway and feed on itself. Oh well if I live long enough I will get it perfect.

I walk with my dogs. Haul them in my homemade box shown here. 4x4 with 2 compartments. Expanded metal doors and I have shileds I can screw on the air holes if it gets cold. Not often here, but when we travel North. Bed it deep in hay and they stay cozy.

BS. Buy some decent rigs. The mule, rhino or big red is a good start, with a trailer. Put some Pointers in there. Pull it with a heavy Pick-up truck.
