Hirsh's Meats in Plano; corner of Alma and Independence. They've done elk, axis and white tail for me. Good personal attention. They also do a great job of sharpening knives.

I have tried to clean this thread up, so it will be a little easier to find a processor. I did not delete any locations or opinions.

I took a doe to the processor in Bridgeport (behind Bridgeport Gun Shop) and I will NEVER take anything there again. I did not get much meat back and the smoked sausage tasted like an ash tray. I'll probably stick to Kubys from now on.

Same thing happend to us. My BIL took a big doe in. We got very little meat back. Now I am afraid to taste it.

If you hunt in the San Saba or Cherokee area, use D&B processing in Cherokee. I have never had my processing done better and hands down some of the best Jerky and Summer Sausage I have ever had.....they also do custom processing if you want..and always very reasonable..thanks ..........

Hey moderators! Instead of having a bunch of posts about processors in a select city, let's post them all in one post and put a sticky on it. How bout it? I know lots of folks are looking. I don't want it to turn into an advertsing thing, but reccommendations would be helpful.

I'm looking for a good processor because the one I used no longer does deer, he went kosher! I live in Dallas and hunt near OH Ivie, but wouldn't mind using one somewhere in between if they were good.

I just figure if we made one big post, we could leave it up for at least the first month of the season to help folks out everywhere.

Totally Traditional Taxidermy and Processing in Tomball. They make the best summer sausage I can remember ever having. They are always there and I you will always get your animal back, usually in a few weeks at most. Their taxidermy work is by far the best with all the small details paid close attention to. Call David or Kevin at 281-255-2232.

Read through this entire post and saw very little in the Austin area and the hill country. I've been using Rabke's in Willow City (north of Fredericksburg) for several years and have always been pleased. Great link and summer sausage. When they call to tell me my order is ready, it gives me an excuse to drive out toward the lease and pick it up!

Hall's in Coleman, TX does a very nice job. Kuby's in Dallas is excellent. There is a new game processor in Crews, Tx that has done a nice job on hogs for guys on my lease.
