I have the full size Seal SOG knife, it is great. I took it to Iraq and man it took a beating. We used to practice throwing it, and after some hours of practice, I could stick it in a board at 20 yards almost every throw. I thought it would we ruined after that much abuse. Not the case, it sharpened back up and is razor sharp again. And all that throwing didn't chip or knick the blade.

I have Seal Pup, great knife, and have the Multi tool, love it, don't put on pants without it. And it fits perfectly into that outer sleeve on the sheath.... great products...
Mine was given to me by a Navy EOD Tech, it's their issue knife and tool.

You'll be pleased with your purchase, Gigem. I bought the same knife off Camofire a few weeks ago, and it's awesome! Really sharp, and great to use on skinning/quartering deer. Plus, it's really easy to clean (like most fixed blades). For $30, it's a no brainer!

FYI, they have the SOG field pup knife up on Steepandcheap.com. Same one that was on Camofire last week.
$27.99 + S&H.

I have an older SOG Tomcat lockblade. Awesome knife. I once cut a belted radial tire off my axle with it. Keeps an edge like no other. Hard to sharpen though.

If its one of those self assisted models they SUCK!!! I got a couple different models and every now and then it wont pop open. This will be bad in a BAD situation. You cant open it the rest of they way with a flick of the wrist and cant push the blade open since you will cut you self. You will have to reclose and reopen it. I returned the knives and went with a kershaw knife which I like except for the blade rusted/tinted a little when I cut a plant. It opens easily with a push from your index finger but does not have a spring assisted mechanism.

Great knife. My son has a Seal Pup that's cleaned a pile of deer. It holds a good edge even with abuse.
