Thanks for all the nice comments!
We hunt in the McMullen county area.
I have taken several deer from the place
but nothing ever scoring over 135.
Something about last year... I saw, but
never had a clean shot at several bucks
I would guess at about 150. Then I encountered
this one and I could tell he was really wide.
I had no idea what I had really shot until we
located him. Needless to say, I needed a moment.

PLEASE dont think i am taking a single thing away from you because i would give my left arm (and i am left handed) to even SEE much less harvest that animal. Hell of a deer! However, maybe that picture doesnt do him justice but i am having trouble finding 175 inches.

This is also coming from a guy that has by wife beleiving that 4 inches is really 8.

Like i said, That deer is amazing and i am NOT calling you out by anymeans!! cheers GREAT JOB!!!!

with all that trash on him i have no doubt that the deer could score 175 inches.

hell of a buck! my buddy has 4300 acres in mcmullen county and they shoot some whoppers every year.

who did the taxidermy work? comal taxidermy?

Well, I went ahead and did a "measurement" rather than an "estimate" and I came up with 171 3/8. So I did overshoot by a little, but I stated + or -. I really try not to get too hung up on the score.... All I know is that I probably won't ever get one bigger than this guy. This is my deer of my lifetime.

It was mounted by a guy in Pleasanton who does deer as a hobby. He doesn't advertise and you sorta have to know him to get the work done. He is dirt cheap though at $185.00.

Comal Taxidermy does beautiful work here in New Braunfels.
I just can't afford the big guy's prices.

Now there is an awesome buck - certainly a buck of a lifetime! I am not that good at math, but he is certainly a record in my book.
